About

LawsonHeadshot

I was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I graduated from John Brown University in 2011, where I majored in marketing and minored in outdoor leadership ministry. After graduating, three friends and I founded Agricultural Food Systems, a company focused on transforming the way food quality is measured, beginning with a product that predicts tenderness of beef. I am currently the Strategic Marketing Manager at Safe Foods Corporation, helping to create a safer food supply for the world. Our technologies are currently used to keep over 250 million servings of food safe each day in 9 different countries.

In addition to my professional pursuits, I also have a passion for church and community involvement. I actively serve in various capacities at Bible Church of Little Rock, sit on the John Brown University Alumni Board of Directors, and help promote entrepreneurship education in Arkansas. In the past, I’ve been involved in college and career ministry, youth ministry, team-building initiatives for nonprofits, and a number of roles for the Boy Scouts of America. In my free time, you can find me on some outdoor adventure (climbing, hiking, camping, etc) or buried in a book in a hammock or at coffee shop.

  1. Hi! I’m Katie 🙂

First, I want to say that I love the layout of your blog! Did you create it?

Second, your job sounds really interesting! Definitely not your every day job.

I really look forward to reading more about your posts with the combination of religion and business. I think it is important to have a balance of both. As my blog just focuses on the advice of being a young professional in the business realm, I’m glad that you’ve also touched on a personal level here with you blog.

    Happy blogging!

    • Thanks for checking out the blog Katie! I’m glad you have found the posts helpful and hope that they continue to be that way. The combination of entrepreneurship and ministry provides a lot of blog post material. 🙂

For the layout, I used the Enterprise theme and then built my own custom background to upload.

Great job on your blog as well. Keep up the good work!

      • Thank you so much!
