Resurrecting Dry Bones
January 10, 2013 3 Comments

This is the fifth post in the Passion 2013 series. These are my notes from Louie Giglio’s message on January 6, 2013 at the Passion Conference entitled “Resurrecting These Bones.”
Key Text: Ezekiel 37:7-10
When God moves, we get to learn what the Lord already knew. Just because you look like you have it all together on the outside, you may be dead spiritually because there is no breath. In our journey with God, He is always bringing us to a point that we can stand firm in our faith in Him (Isaiah 61:1-11). There is no disconnect between God bringing us to life and sending us out on mission. Every Christian became a missionary the moment that God breathed His life into them. We don’t have to go overseas to be missionaries; we can be missionaries in our homes, workplaces, schools, and anywhere else the Lord leads us.
Just as Jesus had to endure intense temptation in the desert (Luke 4:1-14), no one can do great things without going through trials. Jesus first coming began the “year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:17-21). The year of the Lord’s favor is here; go proclaim it! (For notes from a message I gave from Luke 4:14-30 about being our Christian mission, click here)
Two things that change when the Spirit shows up:
- Our message: “I was dead; now I’m alive.”
- Our identity: “We were not God’s people; now we are.”
Don’t hide your scars; they are an essential part of your story. We have been given freedom in order to give freedom to others.
