The Glad News
January 8, 2013 1 Comment

This is the second post in the Passion 2013 series. These are my notes from Beth Moore’s message on January 2, 2013 at the Passion Conference entitled “The Glad News.”
Key Text: Matthew 26:17-30
The Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with His disciples was a Passover celebration. The Passover elements all have a relevance to God’s redemptive work. The Passover meal Jesus shared with His disciples was the one Passover feast with a lamb on the table and the Lamb at the table.
Four Promises from Passover (Exodus 6:6-7)
- “I will bring you out”
- “I will deliver you from slavery”
- “I will redeem you”
- “I will take you as my people”
[During a Passover celebration, each of these promises was related to one of the four cups present at the table]
Nothing short of Jesus blood would have been enough to fulfill these four promises. Nothing else is enough to bring them to pass for God’s people; only Jesus is enough.
We have not outsinned Jesus’ ability to forgive us.
